“If you have 10 reasons to visit, Nainital, there are 100 to visit Naukuchiatal.” Dont believe me, Read my complete post.

After every two months, I long for going on vacations, that too to some offbeat area where I can just relax and enjoy. So when my itchy feet again started giving the problem, after some research and recommendations we decided to head to Naukuchiatal.

Naukuchiatal is a unique destination, which is serene, beautiful, peaceful and calm. Here your mind and soul will feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Naukuchiatal is a complete tourist destination in the true sense, offering views, serene beauty, activities for all age groups. This place is blessed with the scenic splendor of nature offering paranomic views of mountains, lake, birds, and forests

About Naukuchiatal

Naukuchiatal or ‘lake of nine corners’ is a small hill station in Nainital district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The lake is 175 feet deep and is situated at 1220 mts above sea level. It is surrounded by hills covered with trees and shrubs. It is the deepest of all the lakes in the Nainital region.

Reason why we chose Naukuchiatal over other nearby hill stations

Our last visit to Nainital, though was good but it lacks closeness to nature. The trip to Nainital was like visiting a crowded city just like Delhi. Swarms of people, long queue at car parking, traffic jams on roads and crowded tourist destinations and fully commercialized. There was nothing in Nainital which we can relate to as a mountain person.

So this time we don’t want to go to Nainital but still keeping all the points in consideration, wanted to choose some nearby hill station only. Firstly, we have 3 days only. Secondly traveling to long distance with kids was not possible. Thirdly, a destination which can be enjoyed by us as well as kids.

Finally, found a hidden gem- Naukuchiatal.

Where to stay?

For our stay at Naukuchiatal, we opted for Lake Pleasant Resort. This resort is about 2KMs from Naukuchiatal. If you really want to enjoy the scenic beauty of Naukuchiatal, this resort is not to be missed. The Resort actually provides peace of mind to the avid city dweller’s mind like me. The ambiance of this resort is beguiling.

Therefore, We booked this Lake Pleasant Resort for our 3D/2N stay. The staff of this resort was really good, serving yummy food with love especially Ramesh Da was a pure soul. He was our guide too while going to the village and forest view. Even the kids mixed up with them so well that we were not feeling as if we have met them for the first time. In a short span of time, they were family to us.

Lake pleasant resort is one of the beautiful property in Naukuchiatal offering 3BHK villa which includes 1 family room + 2 deluxe room. They have total 8 deluxe rooms, one rooftop restaurant.

We opted for the family room.
The best thing was this room not only offers a beautiful Lake, nature views but also the sunrise and sunset. The morning view was best from this room as one could see the sky from black to orange and then into bright golden.

Usually, while traveling, we have to compromise with the quality of the foods being served in the hotel. Also being a mother of two kids I keep worrying about the food for kids but believe me the food served here was not only yummy but also freshly made and properly spiced keeping kids in mind. We all enjoyed it to the fullest.

Things to do in Naukuchital

Paragliding: Have you ever dreamt of soaring high in the sky like a bird? If yes, In Naukuchiatal you can partake in various activities like paragliding at very reasonable rates.

Naukuchiatal is a beautiful place which embarks the beauty of the relationship between human and nature. The government has taken measures like artificial bubbles to keep the lake clean, conserves fishes and other water animals. Therefore it is our duty too to keep it clean and travel responsibly. Go there for peace, an experience different from hectic city life and to meet sweet people.
