Lansdowne- nearest hill station to Ghaziabad.

Vacations times means kids have to go somewhere, which is unseen. Though we went in Feb only so were not very keen to go long distance. Therefore we decided to go to Lansdowne. It is the nott very popular hill station among people. The main reason being, there is no proper mall road where you can shop and freak out for hours and hours. Instead here you will find military people, camp, and alot of cleanliness.

We started at morning 7:00AM, and after taking few stops(as my daughter is prone to vomiting ), finally we reached there around 12:30PM. It took more time as we took State Highway and keep on taking halts to appreciate nature and its beauty.

To reach there mostĀ preferableĀ route is Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bijnor, Naziababd, Kotdwar and after its only 40 KM and the route is full of natural beauty.

There are very less hotels and resorts, so the population and tourists, but I felt that’s the best thing about it.

Lansdowne is more popular for its scenic beauty than anything else. We visited many temples over there like Kaleshwar, Bhairav garhi, MAta ka mandir, Santoshi Mata ka mandir, Kali Mata ka Mandir.

As I told you earlier, there you wont find much options of good hotels and places to eat. The minimum budget for a day during season is Rs.2000, while other days you can easily get them in Rs.1200.

The best time to visit there is after rains(September to march) as rain accentuate its scenic beauty more.

Overall we had great time in Lansdowne as it was a family tour. If you are really keen to buy something and wants to shop then prefer purchasing leather good like wallets, purses, bags and briefcases from there. They are available at lower cost and better quality. Don’t forget to negotiate, you can easily get them at 20-30% lesser rates.

So pack your bags and enjoy the trip as many long weekends are coming this year.
