“You have to come with us, there is no other option. Be ready with your woolen clothes and raincoat. We will pick up you tomorrow morning at 5:00AM ” ordered my elder sister. My brother in law who is too fond of trekking wanted to go for Valley of flowers trek and we (me and Amit) left with no other option than to join them.
asking to be open-minded to have unforgettable enriching experiences that remain unknown until you get there. This was the first time, I traveling without any itinerary google information and idea.
The whole night I could not manage to sleep as going to mountains and that too during the month of August is damn scaring. “Haven’t you heard the news of disasters happening in mountains because of heavy rains. Hopefully, you haven’t forgotten about Uttarakhand calamity, a few years back.” was, again and again, asking my sister or trying to change her decision. But she was firm like anything.
So the next morning, at right time, she arrived at our gate. As per her, we are already late and should hurry up. Therefore, in certain urgency, we took our baggage and adjust into their cars, to travel to a place you know nothing about for an experience you have no clue about #theblindlist #sayyestotheworld.
Veenu my sister, was, again and again, asking to be open-minded to have unforgettable enriching experiences that remain unknown until you get there. This was the first time, I traveling without any itinerary google information and idea of the trip. With few breaks, stoppages and more than 24 hours drives, we finally reached to Gobindghat.
From Gobindghat we have to trek for 19KMs and thereafter it is only 5-6 KMS trek to valley of flowers. Hearing the distance of trek, I felt nauseatic and wanted to puke there only. But then seeing my condition, Veenu suggested to taking mules on rent. Though I was scared to board the Mule as well but still since left with no other option, so finally sit on Heera, the mule.
mule ride from Gobindghat
After some time, I felt there is nothing exactly to be scared of. The mules are most cautious animals and to be honest, I was enjoying riding them like a princess. Heera was a good animal and following all my instructions with the utmost care. During 3 hours ride, he became one of my good pals.
Finally, around sunset, we reached Gobindghat. It’s a small place with few hotels providing basic facilities. Due to less population, it was so calm and serene that I started loving it. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, I started loving it.
Tired we settled ourselves in hotel rooms and soon fall asleep. We decided for next day early morning trekking to Valley of flowers.
Though I am a late sleeper but the noises of people going for the trek and keenness to experience my first trek, I was the first one to get ready. I dressed in all precautions and woolen clothes. Also dumped my backpack with many items like medicines, snacks, extra clothes that I thought to be useful while trekking.
The time we started our trek it was all dark but soon everywhere it is lit up with orange light. There was chirping of birds and a cool breeze which was again touching the cheeks and turned them into the red. I was loving every bit of it and wondering why I was so reluctant for this heavenly experience.
heaven on earth
The valley of flower trek is the most unforgettable enriching experiences that I have so far. From so many species of flowers to that magnificent scenic, I was really thankful to my sister for making all this possible. Nevertheless, she has taken me for this #theblindlist #sayyestotheworld, I would not have experienced this beauty of nature.
Have you ever experience the thrill of an unplanned trip. Bucket Lists are passé. It’s time for #TheBlindList
