While going to any religious place, we hardly thought of booking a hotel as number of Dharamshalas serving mouthwatering thali and average accommodation are available at very nominal rates. But since this time we are going during New Year we thought of booking in advance.
I booked Banke Bihari Guest House near to Krishan Janam Bhoomi. Since it was available at good discounts I booked two rooms.
About the Guest House: Its located in posh area and medical, general and Sweets shops are just walking distance away. It seems to be a newly built guest house with three caretakers to manage it. Having parking of one car inside and three at their gate.
Flaws: We reached late and super hungry, so decided to have dinner in our rooms only. They don’t have any kitchen to serve you the food. The guy got the food something about one and half kilometer away so if you require more rotis and sabzi than have to wait at least half and hour. Even for tea or kid’s milk we have to wander here and there.
There was no bell or intercom to call the guy at reception.
No extra beddings/ room heater were served instead of requesting again and again.
Benefits: Market and bus stand are within reach/ walking distance.
Rooms were clean and bedding were also neat.
Bathroom though small but equipped with all the facilities like geyser for hot water and others.
Amenities & Accessibility: Car parking, nearby local market, clean room, TV, quilt, toiletries, posh area.
My take: If you want to book a room just for having good night sleep and that too at very low rates, than obviously its a good option. But I wont suggest it to be best until and unless they come over few of their flaws like not having kitchen, or proper staff to maintain and most importantly a bell to call someone from reception. Otherwise hotel staff is very adjustive and behave politely.
